- Canal aspect: The house is on the offside of the Montgomery Canal, behind the CRT boaters' facilities. The garden is to the front and left of the house. The area to the left is lawned, and at its boundary, a five bar gate opens out to to a grassed canalside area. I can't be absolutely sure, but it looks like there is potential to keep this boundary of the garden private or to open it out to encompass the views. My first question to the agent would be who owns that area, and does the cottage have legal rights of access across it? The map below was published in 1901 and with the red markings I have tried to guestimate how it relates to the present.
