Headstone cleaning: Pallett and Barker

Keely and I braved the rain to clean two recently-defaced slate headstones at Aldergate Cemetery in Tamworth. We were joined by Keely's friendly rescue dog, Ziggy.

These are the headstones of Elizabeth Pallett (died 1855), William Barker (died 1866), Eliza Barker (died 1871), and Samuel Barker (died 1895). Their bodies still lie where they were buried in Aldergate Cemetery, but their headstones have been moved twice to new positions in the cemetery.

Sacred to the Memory of Elizabeth Pallett Who Died August 9th 1855 aged 69 years.

Barker Family

In Affectionate Remembrance of

William Barker Who died January 14, 1866, Aged 25 Years

Also of Eliza Barker Who departed this life August 12, 1871, Aged 58 years.

Also of Samuel Barker Who died March 12, 1895, Aged 81 years.
