- Canal aspect: This unique historic canal property faces the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal on the towpath side. There is a gap in the hedge by the front door, but you could open up the views if preferred. I checked the flood risk, but it but it's classed as Very Low, so that isn't a problem here. There's no mooring, but if you need one, Saul Junction Marina is within walking distance.
- The most negative aspect of this property is that Shipton Mill is over the canal to the left, and one of my readers tells me that the noise from that is pretty much constant. Indeed, the extension of mill operating hours to 24-hour working was approved by the planning authority back in 2000 to the consternation of many villagers. There will also be occasional noise from nearby Fretherne Bridge (see Streetview screenshot below). There's a lack of windows directly facing the canal, but the two main living spaces have side views, some may not like the upside down layout.
