Beyond the garden, which is edged with mature trees, there is a very long mooring area which looks suitable for any length of boat. The agent states: "We are advised by our vendors that there may be an opportunity to obtain a mooring on the canal adjacent to the property. This has been confirmed by the River and Canals Trust. A copy of this letter can be provided by Whitegates". The fact that the agent says "River and Canals Trust" doesn't inspire me with confidence that the agents know anything about canals! I suspect this mooring is by way of a historic garden ground lease - I don't think the canal edge belongs to the property. And do bear in mind that mooring rights are not transferrable, so unless the vendor has specifically set up the rights in relation to this sale, you would probably have to reapply. You could always make the approval of mooring rights a condition of the purchase. The CRT are good at rushing these through if needs be.
