  • Canal aspect: This is an equestrian property which sits alongside the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. It extends to about 7 acres, including a stable block, pole barn, manège, paddocks and gardens. The CRT's Water Park Moorings (long term leisure moorings) run along a strip of land along the canal bank. There were no vacancies at the time of posting but you would be well placed to grab one if you lived here - but I also wonder whether this would make a good marina site!
  • This property is being sold by the government in connection with HS2. I worked at a couple of these properties when I was conducting viewings with a company called Viewber. In most cases the owners were invited to sell their properties to the government for market value (it was not a compulsory purchase). Usually they were properties that could be affected when the line opens, or would be affected by the building of the line (by road works, access, noise etc). This particular property is 842m from the line. Bit by bit these properties are coming onto the market, and the government is attempting to recoup what they paid for them. A few have been let, others have been vacant for several years. In my personal experience, they are very well secured with scary alarms, but poorly maintained (I reported several urgent issues on one house that were never dealt with, and another had a serious wasp infestation so I had to terminate the viewing!) It will be interesting to see what the case is here, but it looks fairly typical of the ones I dealt with.
